We tried this Strawberry Fields Mocktail in La Jolla, California and I had to recreate it back home! It’s fruity, gingery and so refreshing for a hot summers day.
As I get older, I really don’t like drinking. The after effects are just too much for me. But I’ve always loved cocktails so I’ve been gravitating towards mocktails. No alcohol but lots of fun flavors like citrus’ and herbs, or in this case, strawberries.
We love an easy mocktail so this one only has 3 ingredients: strawberries, Reed’s Ginger Beer, and lime juice. Reed’s is my preferred ginger beer because it’s actually got ginger in it! Along with cane sugar, a good amount of cane sugar. Despite the name, there’s no alcohol in ginger beer. Ginger beer has a sweet, peppery taste to it. It does remind me a bit of alcohol but without the side effects.
Making this drink couldn’t be easier to make. Blend your strawberries into a smooth puree, add lime juice, a little water or ice, blend again, add ginger beer on top, give it a stir and serve.
If you do choose to use alcohol with this drink, my husband has tried it with Bacardi and raves about it. The Strawberry Fields will be my go-to this summer but I have a few other drinks for the summer that you can find here!
